The words are a poem about the 12mm sized Gem Anemone written by Gerry Cambridge from his book, “Nothing but Heather!”
The poem has been set to music written and recorded by Neil Thomson
and features an underwater
audio sample recorded by Nick Turner 30 feet underwater off
Ardnamurchan Point featuring the sound of ‘Pistol Shrimps’
jetting water to catch prey. It forms part of the deep sea light project.

After a 12 year hiatus Paisley born singer musician Neil Thomson returns with a new folk inspired cd ‘Gandiegow’ which covers a variety of subjects including bird (and people) migration, ceilidh dancing, hedgehogs, sectarianism, wood for burning, clipper ships and the clydebank blitz.
Neil began to write and perform from the mid 90’s creating the Judy Circus; a songwriting collective which worked with DF Concerts to give emerging talent a platform to perform at higher profile venues. For the next 10 years he toured regularly at folk clubs and festivals appearing at the likes of Edinburgh Fringe, Celtic Connections, Kings Tuts and Tin the Park where his performances were described as eclectic, relaxed and intimate
Neil’s writing is mainly but not solely inspired by his native Scotland. It’s roots, people, tradition and natural environment provide inspiration for creating music in his own relaxed, gentle style.
He enjoys setting his music to traditional poems sung in Old Scots
and in particular the poetry of Gerry Cambridge.
