Salary: £25,758 pa plus pension and benefits

We are looking for a Music Officer to join us and support Creative Scotland’s work in the context of our 10-year Strategic Plan and our Annual Plan. You will be an active member of the Music team and will assess and make recommendations on a range of funding applications, projects and funding. You will also be expected to lead on a number of different projects and support the wider work of the Music Team across a variety of different programmes.
The major focus of the role will be across traditional, classical, jazz and orchestral music, and so you should have experience across these musical genres and be able to demonstrate a successful track record of managing music projects/events. You will also have a good knowledge of Scotland’s music scene and of the showcasing and trade opportunities around the world, along with a willingness to continually widen this knowledge.

Experience and/or knowledge of carrying out detailed assessments of proposals, understanding the complexities of projects/organisations, and making informed recommendations, is a key aspect of this role. An overview of the arts, screen and creative industries in Scotland would be advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills and team working, the ability to develop and establish partnerships both at home and abroad, and a commitment to our core values are all essential.

Closing date for receipt of completed application forms is 12 noon on Friday 22 July 2016.
Interviews will be held in Glasgow on Friday 29 July 2016. If selected for interview you will be expected to be available on this date.
