Have you got a great idea for a project but don’t know how to make it happen?
Join the MEPG Youth Forum for this free online event for young musicians who want to bring people together and start making music!
We’ll be joined by musician and activist Emily Major, who is director of Make/Change Collective. They run Soundwave, a space for young musicians and activists to jam, write songs and share their music with the world.
What will happen in the session?
In this interactive session, you’ll take your idea and build it into an action plan to make it happen. You’ll also have a chance to meet other young musicians and songwriters who are passionate about making music.
Emily will be sharing how they approach setting up and running a music project. In the session, we’ll explore:
- Refining your idea – the what, where, who, when and why
- Finding funding, instruments and a location
- Advertising and finding the right people
- How to run a successful session
Do I need a project idea?
This session is designed to develop an idea that you’ve already got in mind. But if you’ve not got an idea yet, don’t worry. Let us know in the signup form and we’ll plan some time to explore ideas.
This session is for you if…
- You’re 15 – 25 years old and based in Scotland
- You have an idea for a music project and need support to get it off the ground
- You want to start playing more music over summer
- You want to connect with other young musicians
- You’re interested in developing your leadership skills
The session is free and delivered online.
This event is delivered by the MEPG Youth Forum. If you’re interested in joining, we’d love to hear from you.
