Join Joy Dunlop and Còisir Alba for a night of Gaelic song, music and dancing at the beautiful Adelaide Place, Glasgow, on Saturday 8 August 2026, 5.30pm–10.30pm. The event forms part of the Glasgow 2026 Festival, the city-wide programme of culture and community events running alongside the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

The evening is ticketed in three parts, so you can come for one, two or all three:

Blasad Gàidhlig – A Taste of Gaelic Language and Song (5.30pm–6.30pm) An informal, fun introduction to Scottish Gaelic led by Joy Dunlop, covering greetings, pronunciation and simple choruses – the perfect starting point for anyone curious about Gaelic language and culture. Free / donation.

Concert – Joy Dunlop and Còisir Alba (7pm–8pm) A visual spectacular on the choral stage from Joy Dunlop and Còisir Alba, Scotland’s first and only Eurovision Choir of the Year entrants, blending traditional Gaelic material with contemporary translations and arrangements. £10 (concert ticket only; cèilidh ticket sold separately).

Horo-gheallaidh – Cèilidh Dance (8.30pm–10pm) Dance the night away to a live cèilidh band, with all dances explained and demonstrated on the night. Family-friendly and welcoming to complete beginners. £10 (cèilidh ticket only; concert ticket sold separately). Note: no stilettos, kilt shoes or metal heels permitted in the venue.

The event is BYOB (bring your own bottle).

Venue: Adelaide Place, 188 Pitt Street, Glasgow, G2 4HZ
