Gies A Scots Poem Day is back on Wednesday 10th June and we’re absolutely delighted to be partnering once again with the Scottish Poetry Library to make it even better! We want as many of you as possible to get involved — write it, record it, video it — whatever takes your fancy! Share your favourite Scots verse on social media on 10th June with the hashtag #GiesAScotsPoemDay. We cannae wait to see, hear and read your favourite poems!

The Scottish Poetry Library has been bringing people and poems together for over 40 years, transforming lives through exciting experiences and creative engagement with poetry — the ‘spark o’ Nature’s fire’ as Robert Burns wrote. As John Burnside put it, ‘the more imaginative we are, the more compassionate we become’. Through support for the poetry community, creative learning programmes in schools and community settings, and access to live literature events and high-quality online resources, the Scottish Poetry Library keeps that imaginative spark alive for everyone.

Find out more about their work at scottishpoetrylibrary.org.uk — and mind and share your poem on the 10th!
