Edinburgh Songwriter Kim Edgar Performs Songs of Unity!

After thirteen years of extensive touring as a member of the awarding-winning band, CARA, local pianist and singer/songwriter Kim Edgar performs her critically acclaimed original songs, as well as some of her favourite songs of unity from other songwriters in Stockbridge Parish Church at 7 pm on Saturday 29th August 2026.

“An inspired empathy…her gentle personality and relaxed interaction would melt the stoniest of hearts…

an artist clearly at the top of her game.” ***** Fringe Review

Described as Scotland’s “very own Tori Amos” (Sunday Herald) and “a heady cocktail of Carole King and Regina Spektor” (Spiral Earth), Kim’s live performances have been noted for their intimacy and intensity. She will be performing solo a Steinway baby grand, acoustic guitar and vocals, and after leading a singing workshop during the day, Kim will also be joined for some songs by a “scratch” choir – all are welcome to take part!

“…probably one of the best songwriters in Britain today” ***** Spiral Earth

Kim commented: “I’ve been privileged, since joining CARA, which is based in Germany, to be able to share my songs at festivals and venues in America, Ireland, and all over Europe. But it’s really special to perform a home gig, and I’ve loved performing “Songs Of Hope” and “Songs Of Peace” over the last couple of years at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, with a singing workshop beforehand, so now I’m completing the trilogy! I feel that unity is what our world needs right now. Singing in harmony makes me feel connected and calm; with so many challenges facing us all at the moment, feeling “at one” with others is important to me, as well as leading others to raise our collective voices in support of unity over division. Group singing can help me to feel connected to others, and hopeful for the future – and I hope those taking part in the workshops and the concert will find the same.”
