From Arthur Cormack
Very sad to hear tonight of the passing of the great Portnahaven Gaelic singer, Donald MacLeod. Just at New Year his grand-daughter Tweeted a message to say how much he was enjoying Cèilidh na Bliadhn’ Ùire on BBC ALBA and it was great to know he was watching. It was a privilege to have known him. As well as being a fabulous singer, he was an utter gentleman and always a pleasure to meet.
He was inducted to the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame in 2011 and you can read more about him here http://bit.ly/2G2XmGI.
Have a listen to Donald’s great voice on ‘Mo ribhinn choibhneil’ through this link http://bit.ly/2tTzNeL and ‘Bìrlinn Ghoraidh Chròbhain’ by Islay’s Duncan Johnston through this link http://bit.ly/2G177W0.
