The National Association of accordion and Fiddle Clubs are delighted to support the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards once again. It is truly fantastic to return to live music events after 2 years of isolation, and for dancers, musicians and listeners to be able to have interaction again feels like liberation!
We have been delighted to sponsor the category of “Scottish Dance Band of the Year” for all of the 20 years of the Trad awards. Supporting live music is the mantra of the NAAFC – our mission statement is to provide a platform for all musicians to play live. The NAAFC celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2021 and in that time have provided a stage for, not only established performers, but launched innumerable musicians and bands into the scene.
The Scottish Dance Band scene encompasses many styles – from the very disciplined Scottish Country Dance to raucous ceilidhs – but the essence of it all is enjoyment and establishing a synergy with the audience.
