The National Piping Centre serves as the centre for excellence for the Great Highland Bagpipe and its music. The Centre is host to The Museum of Piping, The Highland Library, and The School of Piping, teaching many varieties of pipes and drumming.
The National Piping Centre is a centre for piping tuition and exists to promote the study of the music and history of the Highland Bagpipes. With various courses and come and try sessions available why not go down and give the pipes a go. Close to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, they incorporate a school with rehearsal rooms and an Auditorium. They also house the Museum of Piping, a reference library, as well as conference facilities, hotel and restaurant.
The Museum of Piping is a partnership between National Museums of Scotland and The National Piping Centre, presenting one of the country’s best piping collection.
Amongst this stunning collection is the Iain Dall MacKay Chanter – the oldest piece of bagpipe in the world, as well as a piping relic that belonged to Robert Burns. Experience the richness of Scotland’s musical heritage and explore some of its history with audio commentaryavailable in 6 different languages, including Gaelic.
