In 2018 we started The FRADS – a fringe Trad Music Awards. They were meant to be a bit of fun and also a look at important technical categories that there wasn’t time to fit into the official Scots Trad Music Awards. In 2019 after discussions with various parties including musicians Hamish Napier and Alana MacInnes we decided to change The FRADS into the Scots Trad Music Industry Awards. The Industry Awards are now a section of the Scots Trad Music Awards and a nominee / winner of an award is a MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards winner. Read about the 2019 nominees here.

- Live Sound Engineer of the Year
- Studio Engineer of the Year
- Photographer of the Year
- Trad Music in the Media
- Session Recording Musician of the Year
- Best Use of Social Media
- Graphic Designer of the Year
- Recording Studio of the Year
