Any more information you would like to tell us? | Mercury is Siobhan Miller's first release of entirely original material and was recorded in Glasgow with many of her frequent collaborators including producer and bassist Euan Burton, Innes White (guitar, vocals) John Lowrie (piano), Megan Henderson and Lauren MacColl (fiddle) and Louis Abbott (drums). Special guest Eddi Reader appears on backing vocals. The material on this album is written around the theme of memories, the importance of our past and what we take with us throughout our lives. The music is rich in detail, with melodies that combine the influences of indie and alternative music along with her grounding in folk music with acoustic guitar at the heart of the album. Mercury features songs co-written with Lau’s Kris Drever and Admiral Fallow frontman Louis Abbott. |
