As part of the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards we have an Album of the Year category (sponsored by Birnam CD). We asked musicians to add their albums from the last 12 months (September 2015 to August 2016) and then in September 2016 we asked our Album panel (20 musicians / industry people) to listen to all the releases and bring it down to 20. | Any more information you would like to tell us? | This was an album recorded with family in mind. There are tunes from all over, some of which we've been playing together informally for years and original melodies by us and members of the family. On the last track we blend in an archive recording of our late grandfather playing the fiddle and our sister Mariann Allan plays the piano. Read about Ross and Ryan. |
