We asked Ewan MacPherson the following questions.
Tell us about yourself
Ewan is a singer/songwriter, instrumentalist and music producer.
He has a wide range of experience as a performer and in the studio.
A founder member of 3 bands: Salt House, Fribo and Roughcoastaudio
and a current member of Shooglenifty.
Ewan has also worked with many artists including: Bella Hardy, The Treacherous Orchestra, Patsy Reid, Breabach, Malinky, Fred Morrison, Salsa Celtica and Emily Smith.
Why are you involved in Scottish music?
It began as a source of inspiration and became a large part of my life. It’s a very interesting music scene and I enjoy the variety of scenarios you find yourself working in.
Any particular career highlights?
Playing a jaw harp duet with Sharu Khan master morchang player of the Manganiyar community, in Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur Rajahstan with Mick Jagger in the audience.
What are your plans for the future?
I’m currently working on two new albums one of songs one instrumental. Also planning to finish the long awaited Roughcoastaudio album called kumatology.
