We asked Alex Ogilvie about Highland Society of London.
The Highland Society of London is a charity that promotes and supports the culture and traditions of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. We aim to do that primarily by organising and/or sponsoring competitions across piping, Highland dancing, Gaelic singing, literature and visual arts. Our objective is to provide a platform to highlight those participating in these activities, both at the elite and the introductory levels; to encourage more people to take part; and to bring these activities to as wide an audience as possible.
The Highland Society of London is celebrating its 250th Anniversary in 2028 and, alongside our annual programme of activities, over the next few years we are fundraising to support the redevelopment of the West Highland Museum in Fort William.
