We asked Rosie of Rosie Munro / Venn Music Management the following questions.
Tell us about yourself
Rosie Munro is the founder of Venn Music Management, a Glasgow-based music agency established in 2022, offering both management and live booking services. With over eight years' experience in the music sector and skills in booking, management, artistic programming, marketing and PR, she represents a diverse roster of artists, including Calum Stewart, Hannah Rarity, Hector Shaw, James Lindsay's Torus, Josie Duncan, Kim Carnie, Low Light Listening Lounge, The Nordic Fiddlers Bloc, Sian, Staran, TRIP and Tsuumi Sound System.
Why are you involved in Scottish music?
Having studied traditional music at Newcastle University, and going on to gain a postgraduate degree in arts, festival and cultural management at Queen Margaret University, I have always been passionate about Scottish music, and knew that I wanted to build a career in supporting this incredible community.
Any particular career highlights?
Launching Venn Music Management in 2022 was a major personal achievement, and I’m proud to have grown a roster of talented artists I truly believe in. Motivated in part by the challenges the music sector faced during the pandemic, I wanted to create something that supports artists navigating the industry. Highlights include attending WOMEX and Folk Alliance International, and seeing the bands I represent and work with successfully tour and perform around world.
What are your plans for the future?
Having just returned from my third WOMEX (Worldwide Music Expo), I'm excited to build on my international connections and continue to work to elevate Scotland's presence on the world music stage.
