We asked Michael of Jura Music Festival the following questions.
Tell us about yourself
Jura music festival celebrated our 30th festival this year.
We always champion up and coming artists and our youth fund helps local young musicians with the cost of tuition/education.
One of our founding goals was to book top Scottish acts to inspire local children and peak their interest in Scottish music.
This has truly been a worthwhile endeavor as the number and quality of young local musicians that we have for such a modestly populated island is really astonishing.
Why are you involved in Scottish music?
To help bring great Scottish acts to this part of the country and celebrate our great national musical culture.
Any particular career highlights?
Seeing the wealth of local musical talent at this year's Friday (local performers) concert was very special and a testament to our hard work to inspire children into Scottish music.
What are your plans for the future?
To continue to support young musicians with furthering their skills and knowledge in music. Engaging with the local community and keeping our offering fresh and exciting. Taking manageable steps towards being greener.
