We asked John of John 'Dumbo' McFarlane the following questions.
Tell us about yourself
I have been working in the music and events industry for over 30 years now. What started off as a favour to a friend for one band in their venue for one night grew and grew over the years and we now have over 70 crew on our books and have worked with all kinds of bands at a wide variety of venues, festivals and events.
Why are you involved in Scottish music?
The music industry isn't for everyone but I couldn't imagine working in any other field. The camaraderie, excitement, not to mention frustration keep it always changing. Watching how the popularity of traditional Scottish music has grown over the years and working with so many different people in that particular area has been fantastic to be a part of.
Any particular career highlights?
Working with some of the top artists from all over the world.
What are your plans for the future?
To continue doing exactly what I am doing now and drinking coffee.
