We asked Ceitlin Lilidh of Ceitlin Lilidh the following questions.
Tell us about yourself
I’m Ceitlin Lilidh, a Scottish Gaelic singer from Ness on the Isle of Lewis. I sing with the band Sian and also feature with the electronica group Niteworks. I am a Mòd Gold Medallist and graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and nowadays I split my time between music and working in TV. Being part of the Scottish music scene has taken me to some incredible places—from performing in Netflix’s Outlaw King to recently recording vocals for Square Enix’s video game SaGa Emerald Beyond.
Why are you involved in Scottish music?
Scottish music has always been a huge part of my life. From singing at the Mòd from the age of five to studying Gaelic song at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, it’s in my roots. I love the music, I love the people, and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such a talented, creative scene.
Any particular career highlights?
Performing with Sian, Niteworks and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra is up there with my career highlights! Opening Heb Celt on the main stage with Sian this year also meant a lot to me – from growing up on the Isle of Lewis, playing that main stage has always been a dream.
What are your plans for the future?
I'm working with Sian on our second album at the moment – I can't say too much, but I'm very excited to be able to share what we've been working on over the past year.
