Tell us about yourself
Van Gill Media is the name for my small, freelance design company. I initially started to create artwork for myself and close colleagues, almost 20 years ago before other bands and musicians began to take notice and hired me to create their cover art. With a wide knowledge of the arts industry, I offer graphic design services covering printed and digital media. From CD & Vinyl album artwork to posters, flyers, brochures & booklets. Clients include Karine Polwart, Old Blind Dogs, Shooglenifty, Martin Green, Katie Doherty, String Sisters, Simon Thoumire & Ian Carr, Inge Thomson, Heather Downie, Shine, The Bevvy Sisters, Amy Geddes, Elspeth Cowie and countless more.
Why are you involved in Scottish music?
I am also–and foremost–a professional musician, involved in Scottish music for the last 30 years. It is music I feel deeply connected to and am continually inspired by the ever-evolving cultural landscape in Scotland.
Any particular career highlights?
Every new day is a highlight, is it not?
What are your plans for the future?
To keep improving!
