We asked Craig of Craig Irving – Guitar Instrumentals the following questions.
Tell us about yourself
I'm a guitarist originally from Inverness, now based in Glasgow. I've been playing guitar professionally in the Scottish folk scene for the last six or seven years.
Why are you involved in Scottish music?
I got involved in Scottish music when I was sixteen or seventeen after getting asked to play guitar for a ceilidh when I was in school. After playing at the ceilidh I decided to get involved in the local folk scene in Inverness and it led me to eventually moving to Glasgow and pursuing a career in the genre.
Any particular career highlights?
Winning a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award with Talisk and touring internationally for four years with Mànran.
What are your plans for the future?
I'm planning to just keep posting plenty of content on TikTok and YouTube to shine a bit more of a light on Celtic style rhythm guitar.
