We asked Charlie of Charlie Mckerron the following questions.
Tell us about yourself
I have been playing Scottish traditional music for over 50 years in bands Capercaillie and Session A9. Through the Feis movement and other organisations, I have also been drawn into the teaching sphere.
Why are you involved in Scottish music?
My father was a keen fiddle player and certainly inspired me to play the fiddle. His grandson has now inherited one of his fiddles and picked up the traditional cause.
Any particular career highlights?
Touring the world representing Scotland and our traditional music is a real honour for me and I feel very blessed to do this.
What are your plans for the future?
To release a tune book and a solo album.
