We asked Bob Gibbon of The Chair the following questions.
Tell us about yourself
The Chair are an eight piece folk band from Orkney, playing a mixture of high energy dance music and acoustically driven folk.
Why are you involved in Scottish music?
We've all been playing music together since we were young, influenced by orcadian music right from the beginning. It's ingrained in our psyche. There's nothing else that we're good at.
Any particular career highlights?
1 – Winning a Danny Award at CC 2008
2- Robbie cycling fully clothed into a swimming pool in Sark
3- Closing Cambridge Folk Festival AFTER The Waterboys.
What are your plans for the future?
Keep playing music, having fun, not taking ourselves too seriously.
