We asked Daniel Gillespie of Tiree Music Festival CIC the following questions.
Tell us about yourself
With its picture-perfect white sands and world-famous surf, Tiree Music Festival has been described as one of the most stunning festival locations in the world. 2019 was the 10th TMF and our 10th successive sell out with a capacity of 2000 – more than double the population of the island!
Why are you involved in Scottish music?
There has never been a more exciting time to be involved in Scottish music. We set up TMF because we were proud of our music and culture on Tiree and wanted to invite more people to the island to experience it.
Any particular career highlights?
This, our 10th year was very special as so many bands that have been part of the journey all returned to be there for the 10th year. 2015 was also a year we will never forget and is now known as ‘Hurricane Tiree’…
What are your plans for the future?
We constantly are striving to showcase new collaborations and emerging artists at TMF. We are also exploring more ways that we can become more sustainable going forward.
