We asked Jack Smedley of RURA the following questions.
Tell us about yourself
Celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2020 RURA, with three heralded albums and extensive international touring behind them, are one of Scotland’s most sought after groups. Their compelling, progressive instrumentals have placed them firmly at the forefront of 21st century Scottish folk.
Why are you involved in Scottish music?
Cause it's AWESOME.
Any particular career highlights?
Our proudest moment was releasing our third and first exclusively instrumental album, In Praise of Home.
What are your plans for the future?
In 2020 we celebrate our 10th anniversary! We plan to record a live album at this years Celtic Connections featuring special guests who we've worked with along the way. We have a number of exciting performances across the world lined up which we'll be announcing soon!
