We asked Erinn McIlwaine of Closkelt Pipe Band the following questions.
Tell us about yourself
Our band was formed in Co. Down in 1938.
We are the current RSPBA Grade 2 Champion of Champions (2nd year in a row) and cane runner up at the World Championships in Glasgow in Aug 2019.
We have been promoted to Grade 1 and will contest next season in this grade.
Why are you involved in Scottish music?
We play and compete as we all have a passion for pipe band music. We try to further the ideals and beauty of Ulster-Scots pipe music.
Any particular career highlights?
Winning the World Championships in Grade 4B in 2011.
Winning British, Scottish & UK Championships in Grade 2 in 2019 as well as being runner up at the Worlds.
What are your plans for the future?
We have been promoted to Grade 1 and plan to make our first year in the top grade as great as possible.

There will also be a late night ceilidh after the Awards till 1am.
