We asked Andy Rae of Mauchline and District Accordion & Fiddle Club the following questions.
Tell us about yourself
The club was formed in September 1983
We have a guest artiste at each club night and vary from solo, duo, trio, band and orchestra with some well known National and International performers e.g Donal Ring from Cork in Ireland.
We have an excellent group of club players on accordion and fiddle rangeing in ages from 10 to 80 plus years and backed by piano and drums if preferred.
The club meets on the third Tuesday in the month from October to April in The Harry Lyle Suite in Mauchline KFC Supporters Club.
Why are you involved in Scottish music?
To promote traditional Scottish music.
Any particular career highlights?
To be voted club of the year at the NAAFC Luncheon in June 2016
What are your plans for the future?
To continue to support the club and encourage all players who attend.
