So here we are celebrating twenty five years as Blazin’Fiddles. Quite how a one-off project, designed to do a 5 day tour, has evolved into one of Scotland’s most enduring and successful folk bands is nothing less than miraculous!
In terms of personnel the band has evolved considerably. The arrangements and repertoire have shaped different periods of our sound, but the one constant core is the fire and passion for our music, which is just as strong today as on day one.

This album was recorded at Realworld studios directly after a tour. The last curtain had just come down and the very next morning we went into the studio and pressed ‘record’. No click tracks, no individual tracking; just the thrill of live recording, as a band in one room. The results were exactly what we hoped for - the freshness, the spontaneity that is always there when we play live.

Our purpose as a band has been to promote the fiddle styles of the Highlands and Islands and you will find the melodies from these traditions are to the fore. We’re also a band that loves to travel and absorb cultures, so we have melodies from our trips and adventures as well as a number of new compositions by band members.
Our thanks go to our 7th Blazer, Jimi Troupe who has toured the world over with us and has made touring a joy. Thanks also to our agent Craig Corse from 22 Productions. Our biggest thanks goes to you; to those who have supported us and given us purpose over the years. A band without an audience is like a broken pencil - pointless!
