Any more information you would like to tell us? | Yoko Pwno deliver an unclassifiable and joyful mash-up of original folk tunes, showstopping vocals and irreverent dance music. The band innovate, flex and mutate traditional Scottish folk and roots in a way few are able. Live on stage they deliver louder than life energy and more than a dash of tongue-in-cheek humour. Their line-up features the twin fiddles of whisky-fuelled folk maestro Lewis Williamson and classically trained RCS graduate Lissa Robertson, alongside effects-laden banjo player Gary Rafferty and physicist flautist Helen LeMar. At the back of the stage, drummer Ali Hutchison and producer Calum Cummins are equally at home and referencing dance acts like Disclosure and The Prodigy as they are folk-crossover acts like Shooglenifty and the Peatbog Faeries. Their second full length album, ‘Part Machine’ was released in April 2022 via producer Iain Copeland’s (Sketch, Adam Sutherland) Skye Records imprint. |
