We asked Inge Thomson about their album Da Fishing Hands.
Album of songs inspired by the island of Fair Isle and it’s inhabitants campaign to become a marine protected area. Including the last lyrical works of Lise Sinclair, here I’m joined by the musicians Steven Polwart, Fraser Fifield, Sarah Hayes and Graeme Smillie. Recorded live at Mareel, Lerwick. Supported by Creative Scotland originally as part of the Year of Natural Scotland.
About Inge Thomson
I grew up on the island of Fair Isle where playing music was and still is an intrinsic part of daily life. I am one third of the Karine Polwart Trio. I am one half of a duo with Fraser Fifield. I have been one fifth of Harem Scarem plus all manner of other fractions. I love experimenting with sounds, then trying to figure out how I would recreate them live.
