Just been thinking about the value of traditional music lately. We really are very lucky. Trad music is all about community. We all come together and share tunes and songs, passing on traditions and styles. It’s very inclusive.
It also has many virtuosos that can grace any stage in the world. Scottish musicians travel all over the globe playing with top musicians from many different genres holding their own. They’re also happy to meet up and share our traditional in the ways described above.
When you add to all of this the depth of our tradition we are in a very good place at the moment. Everyone needs to get involved in Scottish music.
Long live Scottish traditional music!
