Thank goodness Simon invested Scots Trad Music Awards – and that TV woke up. Slainte BBC Alba
These awards are fantastic for the scotstradmusic.
I love treacherous orchestra. Seen them live in Nottingham. Fantastic live.
I encourage everyone to check them out.
Very happy to recommend Fiona J Mackenzie ..she is an inspiration and has such energy and passion to promote gaelic song, history and tradition especially now in small communities to ensure that this heritage continues to flourish.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Peter Morrison in the composer category. A truly top composer and he would be a worthy winner.
My vote went to Dallahan, but my best wishes also go out to all the entrants. Scots Traditional Music is very much to be encouraged and it is pleasing to see such a high standard of music making across the board.
Please vote Fiona J MacKenzie in the Gaelic singer category. She’s an amazing singer songwriter and has helped many including myself learn about Gaelic song and singing technique.
Shooglenifty ‘The Untied Knot’ – what more can I say? Now that I’ve realise that the form wasn’t responsive and I was not just choosing between ‘it’s not for me’ and ‘it’s ok’ all has become clear. 😉
Hands down, Mairi Campbell for best instrumentalist! Mairi and her husband, David Francis bring their incredible sound to Canada every few years and we are blessed if lucky enough to attend! She’s a class act with a twinkle in her eye!!!!
