In 2015 the Album of the Year category at the Scots Trad Music Awards is changing. The changes are based on the excellent Scottish Album of the Year Award organised by Scottish Music Industry Association (SMIA). Our aim is to highlight the trad recording industry and to showcase the large amount of albums that are released each year in the trad/folk music genre. Anyone can add an album – just fill in the form with details.
What will happen is in October 2015 we will announce the Trad Album of the Year Longlist (20 releases) and in November we will announce the shortlist (10 albums). The winner will be announced as usual at the Scots Trad Music Awards on the 5th December, Dundee.
So if you have (or know of) an album out between October 2014 and August 2015 please fill in the form here. This information will be passed to a panel to decide the longlist. The shortlist will be decided 50% by panel and 50% by the public. Any questions please contact us.
