We asked Allan of Niteworks the following questions.
Tell us about yourself
Niteworks is an Electronic Celtic fusion band from the Isle of Skye. The band are known for combining Gaelic songs and folk tunes with electronica and electro music.
Why are you involved in Scottish music?
We’ve been involved in music since we were very young. And growing up together, it seemed natural to start a band that combined our two musical loves, traditional scottish music with dance music. We wouldn’t have it any other way!
Any particular career highlights?
Doing the music for Edinburgh’s Hogmanay during lockdown for their online celebration where they filmed a drone display in lieu of their usual street party fireworks display was pretty special – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xx3Zmkgt2no&ab_channel=Underbelly-Festivals%2CEvents%2CShows
What are your plans for the future?
Touring, recording, and just generally trying to keep pushing that is possible with Scottish, Gaelic and folk music.
