We asked Jennifer Cruickshank of Take The Floor the following questions.
Tell us about yourself
Take The Floor is a radio programme, broadcast on BBC Radio Scotland, celebrating Scottish Dance Music. It is the longest running programme in Scotland, dating back to the 1930's.
This has been a momentace year for the programme as we celebrated Robbie Shepherd's 35 years as presenter and we welcomed the new voice of Gary Innes.
Why are you involved in Scottish music?
To showcase the very best of Scottish traditional music and song.
Any particular career highlights?
This has been a huge year for Take The Floor. Mr Take The Floor, stepped down from his presenters role after an amazing 35 years. The summer followed his broadcast career, showcasing the changing sounds and styles of our leading bands.
We also welcomed our new voice to Take The Floor, the young and enthusiastic Gary Innes. His passion for music has shone through and has been welcomed by our listeners.
What are your plans for the future?
We would like to continue developing the programme, respecting our past, while showcasing our very happening music scene of today.
