Album titleSinner's Shrine

Any more information you would like to tell us?

Recorded with iconic desert noir band Calexico, the music on Sinner's Shrine is a rich fusion of Dean’s Scottish roots and the lush, swirling desert sounds of Calexico. Each song creates its own world - stories of sinners and saints, love and lust, the displaced, the wanderers and the border ghosts. It has been described as a “perfect collaboration” and “a marriage made in heaven” which has produced something unique - a wonderful melange of Scottish folk/roots and sweeping mariachi Latin rock.

The songs capture one of Scotland’s leading songwriters pushing his own boundaries, the lyrics sometimes impressionistic, but with universal stories, emotions, and a catchy chorus, at their heart.

Joey Burns (Calexico): "I think this record will stand the test of time.”
Produced by Dean Owens.
