The tune was requested by Tanya Horne, Principal Teacher at The Tanya Horne School of Highland Dancing, Halkirk, Caithness. The request was to compose a reel for Tanya's annual Highland Dance Festival. A total of 43 dancers choreographed a Highland Dance to the tune which was presented on social media on 30th May 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival went ahead virtually.

Karen, a fiddle player/composer/recording artist was raised in a musical household. Her dad, Eion was self-taught on accordion, while her mother, Christine ensured that the girls in the family attended highland dancing lessons. From an early age, Karen and her siblings were exposed to highland bagpipe music, as this commonly accompanies highland dancing. She believes that by the time she began learning fiddle at age 13, she already had a repertoire of tunes in her head. This, combined with exposure to traditional music at home and at local accordion & fiddle clubs led to a love of traditional music and playing for highland dancing. Karen loves to compose tunes inspired by places around Scotland, for friends & family as well as for highland dance choreography.
