The Mindful Musician Royal Conservatoire of Scotland

This one-day course will explore the benefits of mindfulness and its value within a music performance context

The principles of mindfulness will be explained and consolidated through mindfulness meditation practices to help you to be more fully aware and present in the moment.

The course is intended to offer ways to help you experience musical life with renewed confidence and rekindled curiosity and to help you to adopt effective mindful strategies to manage challenges such as performance anxiety and stress.

To help develop your mindfulness skills beyond the course, meditation scripts will be given to you for personal use, details of informal mindful activities that can be integrated into your daily musical lives and a recommended reading list.
