I’m thinking of organising a festival over 27th-28th December “The Gift Of Music”, getting live music into care homes across the country.
A funny time of year when we’re often at a loose end between Xmas and Hogmanay, and residents in care homes are potentially needing a pick up too!
This would be voluntary, very informal performances.
If you are free, organise this with a care home local to where you will be at that time of year, and please let me know, as I will be collating a list of events.
If anyone has any suggestions for how to make this work well, I’d love to hear them. I’d also really appreciate any advice anyone has for publicising the concept, to try to make this big. A photo from each event at the time would be great for social media, so keep this in mind, but for publicising in advance, to get more folk involved, I don’t know if a Facebook “group” would be the way to go for this. I don’t use twitter yet but I will get on it! If anyone has software to knock up a quick logo, please let me know.
Finally, if you’re looking for someone to team up with for a specific location, please send me a message and I’ll do what I can to help.
