Sistema Scotland is looking for a Temporary Musician/Teacher, specialising in classroom delivery and general musicianship for their Big Noise Raploch (Stirling) programme.
This pioneering programme drew its initial inspiration from El Sistema in Venezuela and our vision is to transform lives with music. We deliver on our vision through the creation of Big Noise programmes within communities. Since its inception in 2007, the programme has grown and developed into a multi – faceted and immersive music education and social development programme which uses the orchestra as a learning community.
You will work as part of the dynamic team in Big Noise Raploch delivering a visionary, socially driven children’s orchestra centre. You will work with children from pre-school, primary school, secondary school, and adults. Being creative in designing and introducing new ways of learning you will use the orchestra to grow children’s confidence, respect, aspiration, drive and understanding. As part of the team you will develop innovative ways to engage children and families, including home visits and community performances.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you must have experience of working with large and varied groups of children along with a track record of success in delivering innovative classroom musicianship sessions.
This is a temporary maternity cover post and hours of work will be 3 days a week, working between Tuesday and Thursday all year round.
The salary for this opportunity is £28,096 – £31,218 per annum (pro rata).
