Showcase Scotland Expo at English Folk Expo 2027

Showcase Scotland Expo are delighted to continue our partnership with English Folk Expo with a special Scottish showcase at the 2027 edition of the conference.

English Folk Expo (EFEx) is an annual music showcase event gathering music industry representatives across the folk, roots and acoustic music sector. EFEx showcases export-ready artists to 200 delegates from the UK and across the world. Many festivals and venues across England are represented, and international delegates regularly include bookers such as Port Fairy Folk Festival in Australia and the Tønder Folk Festival in Denmark.

Three artists/groups will perform at our Scottish showcase in the afternoon of Friday 12th March 2027. One artist, who was selected for 2026 but was unable to perform due to unforseen circumstances, has been carried over into next year, meaning there are two remaining slots available for new applicants.

The successful applicants will be chosen from an initial longlist of 20. While only two will be chosen to attend and perform at EFEx, all of those who make the longlist will have their materials featured at Showcase Scotland Expo’s booth at the EFEx trade fair, where they will be presented to delegates as export-ready Scottish artists.

Showcasing artists will be paid a performance fee of £200 per musician. Accommodation and per diems will be provided along with a contribution towards travel costs.

Showcasing artists will also receive free passes to the associated artist-focused conference on Friday 12th March 2027, the trade fair and Manchester Folk Festival public events.

The deadline to apply is 23.59 on Sunday 6th September 2026
