Due to overwhelming demand, we are delighted to announce a second date of our next Business Briefing, which will be taking place on Wednesday 11 January 2017. The topic for this session will be ‘Copyright and other Intellectual Property for the Creative Community’.
The cultural sector is made up of businesses, big and small. Whether or not you view your work as your passion, your business (or both) it is very likely you are creating valuable Intellectual Property. It is important to be able to recognise how the law protects your work and the work of others. Were here to help you protect your work and avoid any potential legal pitfalls.
Delivered by Douglas McLachlan, Partner in Anderson Stratherns Intellectual Property and Media Team, and his colleague Aimee Scullion, Senior Solicitor, this informal session will help you better understand copyright and the other important types of intellectual property and how to recognise, protect, deal, and ultimately make money from it.
This session is for anyone in the arts and creative community who thinks they may be creating something of value that they would like to protect. Youll also have the opportunity to ask any burning questions.
The event will take place on Wednesday 11 January 2017 at Anderson Strathern, 1 Rutland Court, Edinburgh, EH3 8EY.
Registration is from 8.45am with tea, coffee and pastries, and the event will run from 9am – 10.30am.
This event is FREE for members and £20 + VAT for non-members. Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
