Scotland Introducing is an initiative designed by Showcase Scotland Expo to introduce artists to new audiences across England. Following the year-long Scotland Unwrapped at Kings Place, a focus at Cambridge Folk Festival and The Visit delivered for the English market in 2024, we worked with venues across England to create a concert series which debuted this year, with several double-bill tours taking place throughout the year in venues such as Cecil Sharp Hoouse & Kings Place (London), The Live Room (Saltaire), Masham Town Hall, Lakeside Arts (Nottingham) and The Junction (Cambridge).
Showcase Scotland Expo understands England is an important market for artists’ career development and aims to introduce artists to new audiences through a number of initiatives.
In 2027, three tours will take place and we are expanding to include more venues due to growing interest across England. The tours will happen in June, September and November, with exact dates still TBC.
Two artists/groups will be chosen for each tour and will perform as a double bill at each concert. Artists will be paid fees of £200 per musician per show. Accommodation, per diems and a contribution towards travel costs will also be provided.
A panel of industry experts will select an initial longlist of applicants, with the final selections for each tour made by the participating venues.
Previously successful artists are eligible to apply and may be selected for a tour as long as the venues are in locations where they have not toured previously. This will be worked out in the final selection process should those applicants be successful.
The deadline to apply is 23.59 on Sunday 6th September 2026
