Songs For Scotland 2 plan to create a scholarship fund for young musicians. The fund is named after Alasdair Gray and administered by Hands Up For Trad – a wonderful charity that supports young musicians.
Once they have raised the minimum required to make the album, they will allocate a percentage of contributions to the fund. Songs for Scotland are also applying for various grants to add to the fund. Young people between 16 and 30 will be able to apply to Hands Up For Trad for funds to cover the costs of things like demo recordings and musical instruments.
Songs for Scotland are delighted to be working with this excellent charity, who are a constant source of support for young traditional musicians.
