Self funded residency opportunities to stay at The Booth, Shetland over 2019. This opportunity is open to artists and makers working across a variety of art forms.
The Booth is a small bothy situated on the harbour front in Scalloway, Shetland with stunning views. The building consists of a combined ‘clean’ working area and living space which is located on the upper level and a stone-walled basement for more ‘dirty’ work.
The living accommodation has a fully fitted kitchen, washing machine/tumble dryer and a bathroom with a fully accessible shower. There is a bed space located above the kitchen/bathroom, the sofa also opens up into a double bed and towels and bed linen are provided.
The Booth is an ideal spot for artists, working across a breadth of disciplines, to make, research and reflect on your practice. It also acts as the perfect base to explore the dramatic and ever-changing landscape of Shetland. There is no specific outcome for this residency but to if you would like to stay, Wasps require an application consisting of:
1. A statement about your practice and how you plan to spend your time at The Booth
2. An up to date artistic CV
3. Six to eight images of recent art work or similar.

The rent is currently £595 which includes all utilities. The rent is subject to review each financial year.
For each booking a refundable deposit of £100 is required which will also confirm your booking. Bookings will be allocated pending the application and on a first come first served basis.
