Description
Covid has touched everyone in Scotland, and will continue to do so for some time to come. As we reach the end of the second year of the pandemic, Remembering Together will work with communities, artists/creative practitioners and partners across the country to begin a process of co-creating memorials, continuing through 2022 and into 2023.
In 2021, Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced Scottish Government would fund a programme of co-created community memorial projects in every local authority in the country. greenspace scotland is the organisation delivering this programme, now called Remembering Together.
Remembering Together will commission artists or creative practitioners in all 32 local authority areas in Scotland to co-create with communities, exploring who, what and how we want to remember and honour all those affected by Covid.
Offering a place to connect, to reflect and to create, Remembering Together is about creating together, being part of a process to commemorate those who have lost their lives, those who have experienced loss and change as well as celebrating the ways in which Scottish communities continue to come together during the most difficult times. Covid remains with us, and we will continue to be affected for some time to come. Remembering Together is a space where we can share what has happened, and is still happening, for those that need it.
