JOB POSTING Choir Co-ordinator
JOB DESCRIPTION / OVERVIEW
Freedom Of Mind Community Choir is seeking a person for the role of Choir Co- ordinator. This is a temporary position, 4-6 hours a week on Wednesdays, with a rate of pay of £15 per hour on a freelance basis.
JOB SUMMARY
Freedom of Mind Community Choir is a wellbeing community choir: we sing because it makes us feel good. We are looking for someone with a background in mental health, social care and a keen interest in music to:
- Support choir members
- Plan, prepare and organise resources required for each session
- Assist the Musical Directors
- Administration tasks
JOB DETAILS – Duties and Responsibilities
(1) Supporting choir members – coordinating one to one support during sessions when/if required, signposting members for additional professional support when/if needed, checking in with members about their wellbeing and experience within the choir, taking part in discussions, and keeping members up-to-date with choir activities.
(2) Preparing and ensuring all relevant materials are available each week to members and Musical Directors, including registration forms with membership agreements for new members, sets of music and folders, new lyric sheets / music, and other necessary items as required, and helping to prepare the hall before the session and to clear up afterwards.
(3) Modelling participation within the choir and potentially also assisting the Music Directors in delivering weekly sessions.
(4) Assisting in planning and organising concerts and community performances, liaising with production staff
(5) Administration tasks including: ensuring member forms are all completed, up to date and stored securely, completing scans of expenses forms, receipts and other money forms, and banking deposits.
(6) Correspondence – responding to choir enquires through the Facebook page/ website, email address or choir phone.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Passion for music (Qualification in Music, Music Education, or related field is preferred)
• Qualification in social care or experience working with people with mental ill health • Understanding of community organisations
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to both lead and work with others
• Highly organised but flexible
• Flexible working hours
• Access to home office space and basic computer equipment
• Access to personal vehicle
• Experience working with groups (choir experience would be preferred)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Patient, creative, and assertive.
