Showcase Scotland at Celtic Connections is the leading international showcase for Scottish based artists, attracting 200 industry delegates from across the world. Leading festival producers and venues, as well as agents, record distributors and media travel from as far as Australia and the USA to join the festival. Between the 25th and 29th of January, delegates receive a pass gaining access to all concerts during the festival that feature Scotland-based artists. There are also several day time showcases and networking events and a Trade Fair held on the Friday 27 January.
As a special celebration of the Gaelic and Scots languages so prevalent amongst artists, we have teamed up with Creative Scotland to present a showcase on Saturday the 28th of January.
Held between 12.00 – 14.00 in Drygate, Glasgow, artists will have the opportunity to play a short set of around 3 numbers for delegates. Two Gaelic language and two Scots language artists will be selected to appear.
Reasonable expenses will be covered. Backline and PA systems will be provided as well as catering.
Showcase Scotland at Celtic Connections has a strong track record of supporting artists in their career development and estimates that around £3.5 million is generated annually for Scottish based artists from the attending 200 delegates.
