You will work with children from pre-school and primary school, adults and eventually children from secondary school. Being creative in designing and introducing new ways of learning you will use the orchestra to grow children’s confidence, respect, aspiration, drive and understanding. As part of the team you will develop innovative ways to engage children and families, including home visits and community performances.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you must have experience of working with large and varied groups of children along with a track record of success in giving music instruction to children on your specialist instrument (either lower strings – ‘cello and double bass, or upper strings – violin and viola) or in delivering innovative classroom musicianship sessions (for the General Musicianship post).
The posts are for between 2 and 4.5 days a week during term time and up to 5 days a week during school holidays.
