The Scottish Police & Community Choir (Glasgow Region) is actively seeking an enthusiastic and experienced musical director, for its adult choir to commence in January 2019
The choir was formed in 2012 and has performed at a number of local and national events, including many fundraising performances, police events, Edinburgh fringe and singing with Russell Watson. The choir has built a reputation for delivering great musical performances and a welcoming friendly atmosphere. The ethos of the choir is to sing, have fun, form friendships and raise funds for a range of charities.
The choir sings a variety of music, from contemporary pop, musicals, as well as traditional music. Our members consist of police officers, staff, retired officers friends, relatives and members of the many communities that the police serve. They are dedicated and looking forward to welcoming a new musical director.
The choir rehearses on a Tuesday evening, within the Pearce Institute, Glasgow from 7pm – 9pm. The choir runs throughout the year, with a few breaks, as agreed in advance of the annual programme.
Our current musical director, is moving on to a new full time post, and therefore we are seeking a musical director that will be expected to work with a forward thinking committee and choir:

• Build confidence for members through flexible teaching methods.
• Lead rehearsals from the piano as required.
• Prepare the choir for a calendar of events and performances throughout the year.
• Source and/or arrange music of a suitable style and level.
• Produce rehearsal tracks as required.
• Work closely with the choir committee to plan choir activities.
• Arrange a depute conductor, as and when the musical director is unable to attend a rehearsal or performance.
