I just wanted to flag up a great sheet music app I’ve been using on my phone recently. It’s called Music Scanner and is available for iOS and Android. I use it for scanning in PDFs and converting them to XML files which can be imported into Sibelius, Muse Score etc. For pdfs of music made by apps it is pretty much flawless and saves so much time and money. It also works with hand written scores but you will have to do a bit of editing.
My process is: I download the pdf on my computer, airdrop it to my iPhone. I get the option to open it in Music Scanner. From the open the app I share the file as an MusicXML file (you can also share midi, WAV, pdf and more) and from the share sheet that comes out I typically airdrop it back to my computer and then load it into Sibelius or Muse Score. The results are perfect. Completely environmentally friendly – no paper used! Check out the app here
